Projects
Nth Degree Clothing
Year: 3rd Year final project Stage 2
Grade: Unknown
Description: In this project the aim was to create a business stemming from a problem or opportunity identified from research into a trend. The business I created was: ‘Nth Degree clothing’ an online extreme sportswear rental brand ranging from Ski to Surf, with a purchase after hire option and loyalty scheme. This brand was created to offer a new approach to ethical consumption, while also providing the affordability and on-trend styles other brands are failing to offer.
Reflection: This project has provided me with many different skills that will help me within my future career. Undertaking interviews with industry professionals and researching business activity implementation has given me an insight into what it really takes to run your own business. Holding multiple focus groups and continuously presenting throughout the 2 part project has improved my public speaking and confidence for leadership positions. In addition, the demands of this project have taught me improved organisation and time management.

Sustainability vs Style:
Is the ‘Woke’ generation chasing sustainability or style?
Year: 3rd Year final project Stage 1
Grade: 2:1
Description: This was the Stage one report of the two part project leading to ‘Nth Degree clothing’. The purpose of this report was to investigate further into an aspect of the Sustainability trend from the Future thinking report. I chose to investigate the consumer habits of 18-25 year-old female consumers and their decision making between consuming ethical or fast fashion.
Reflection: Analysis of previous academic writing has shown my ability of critical thinking and cross examination of work to therefore develop my own educated opinion and examine literature effectively.

Sustainability: Ethical consumption
Year: 3rd Year formative
Grade: 2:1
Description: Within this report the aim was to explore a trend to examine how it has developed and its impact on society and the consumer. I chose the trend of Sustainability, focusing on Ethical consumption and examining how the trend has shaped the mindset of consumers.
Reflection: Thorough research into the sustainability trend for this report sparked my interest in Ethical consumption, and has taught me how I can develop my ideas into academic writing. This has proven to me that ethical consumption is definitely something I would enjoy pursuing in my future career.

The Raggedy Man
Year: 2nd Year final project
Grade: High 2:1
Description: This was a University collaborative project with the Fashion design course. The aim was to produce a brand for the clothing range of a fashion design student we had been paired with. The student I was paired with was highly inspired by the issue of homelessness. I therefore tried to reflect this in the brand, and created a charity alongside it to reflect the inspiration.
Reflection: During this project, I discovered my ability to collaborate well with someone while producing a body of work. This is because I was able to create a brand that the designer loved while overcoming a language barrier and a difference in knowledge. This has shown me that I have good initiative and communication skills that I can take into industry collaborative work.

Gymshark Live project
Year: 2nd Year summative
Grade: High 2:1
Description: In this project we worked closely with the brand in a sense that the project brief was written by them. We then had the opportunity to go to the Gymshark headquarters and have a question and answer session with Ben Francis (founder), Mitch Healey (Events Director) and Ed Priestnall (Head of Collaboration). The brief was to come up with a three year marketing and communication plan. I came up with the idea to launch an interactive store and athlete tour. The ideas were backed up by research and financial justifications.
Reflection: This project provided me with the ability to get a perspective of what it is really like to work in industry, with a realistic insight into financial and business implementation. I now therefore know what it takes to implement an idea into a real marketing and communication strategy.
